The most important song I've ever written. It was to my friend Nick. He battled Leukemia in a way and with a strength that was miraculous. I was able to play it for him before and at his funeral. One of the most amazing people I've ever had the honor of knowing.
lyrics
so there you are
and i can't help but think
that something isn't right,
that there's an answer you're without
and i know, i know - i shouldn't have a doubt
but should i just say 'ok this is the way it should turn out?'
i don't want to tell you anything
that i don't know for sure, so what's left to say?
my life's changed because of what you're in, and how you're getting out
so here we are
and i can't help but think
that there's a reason why someone like you's somewhere like here
and i know, i know - it's easier to say
it's easier to not be who you are everyday
i don't want to tell you anything
that i don't know for sure, so what's left to say?
my life's changed because of what you're in, and how you're getting out
we all see how you keep a smile on your face and
it shows us how to smile through the things we face and
do you know how many smiles you're the reason for?
i don't want to tell you anything
that i don't know for sure, so what's left to say?
my life's changed because of what you're in and how you're getting out
you are living proof
you are being you
have i told you
how much we love you?
